Volunteers are the backbone of any non-profit organization. But, for ICARE, volunteers are extra special because we have no paid employees. They make a huge contribution to the health and welfare of our Shelter animals.
Shelter Dogwalkers - We can never have too many dedicated Shelter dogwalkers. These tireless volunteers truly perform a lifesaving service for our Shelter dogs. They not only help relieve the stress and boredom a Shelter dog faces each day, but they teach them basic obedience and how to walk on a leash. All of this makes them more adoptable, so they can find the loving homes they are longing for.
Foster Homes - There is a great need for a network of loving foster homes to provide temporary care for orphaned or injured cats, kittens, dogs and puppies. It helps free up valuable space at the Shelter until the cat or dog can be placed up for adoption. Click here for Inyo County's Foster Application.
If you love animals and have any time at all to help, we promise you will be rewarded with a sense of accomplishment and pride in helping animals in need.
